Bridging the Gap: New Tools to Help AgeTech Innovation Actually Land

A few weeks ago at TechTO Week, I had the privilege of presenting two new tools we've built at AgeTech Labs to address one of the most persistent challenges in our industry: the disconnect between building great technology and solving the right problems.

The Problem We Keep Seeing

Innovation in AgeTech often fails to answer the right question. We build incredible technology—but not always for the right reasons. Startups guess at market fit while operators struggle to evaluate what's worth piloting. The result? Amazing solutions that never find their market, and real problems that remain unsolved.

Two Audiences, One Shared Question

The challenge isn't lack of talent or resources. It's that we have two critical audiences speaking different languages with different incentives:

Innovators need traction and speed. They struggle with market access and want validation fast.

Operators need real-world fit. They struggle with tech fluency and want sustainable value.

Both sides are asking the same fundamental question: "What problem are we solving?" But they need different tools to answer it clearly.

Introducing Two Tools, Same Mission

To bridge this gap, we've created two complementary tools that help both sides ask better questions—and get better answers.

AgeTech Intel: Know Where to Build

AgeTech Intel is a research tool built specifically for the AgeTech sector. It draws from 65+ curated industry documents and resources to surface unmet needs, pain points, and opportunity areas. It's designed for fast insight at the idea stage, helping innovators discover where the real gaps are worth building for.

Try asking: "What are the biggest opportunities in AgeTech?"

Scout Spotlight: Know What to Build

Scout Spotlight is an AI-powered analyst for product validation that asks the critical questions: Is this product solving the right problem? Is it a fit for senior living? The tool scores technology, market, and risk fit—making it invaluable for operators vetting tools and startups pressure-testing their solutions.

Try asking: "Tell me about fall detection solutions."

Creating Common Ground

Whether you're an operator trying to make a better decision or a founder trying to build something that actually lands, these tools create common ground. They help translate between the languages of innovation and operations, bridging the gap from market discovery to product validation.

Ready to Try Them?

Both tools are completely free to use. We built them because we believe the AgeTech sector deserves better alignment between brilliant innovation and real-world impact.

The future of aging deserves solutions that actually work for the people who need them. These tools are our contribution to making that happen.
